"Explosive Bob Satterfield of Chicago was firmly established today as a formidable contender for either the light heavyweight or heavyweight titles because of his sensational 2nd round victory over Elkins Brothers at St. Nicholas Arena. In his New York debut night, Satterfield floored the New Castle, Pa. heavyweight three times and scored a TKO at 56 seconds of the 2nd round. Though brief, their brawl was so electrifying that it had the 3,003 fans screaming wildly during every second of action." -United Press
- So impressed with Satterfield was matchmaker Al Weill, that he stated he would try to use Satterfield in the main event at MSG on February 16th. However it would not be until March that he headlined at the Garden and that would be against top contender Rex Layne.
