"Cisco Andrade, veteran Compton lightweight, using his rapier-like left hand plus plenty of experience, knocked out Battling Torres in 1:18 of the 7th round in the 19th annual 'Fight for Lives' card at the Olympic Auditorium Saturday night. The 30 year old Andrade, a 4-1 underdog at fight time, proved that age and ring savvy can pay off. Using his left hand as both an offensive and defensive weapon, he rocked, harried and attacked the aggressive but less experienced Torres. Torres pressed the fight, but was outboxed. In the 7th round, Torres made a do-or-die effort. He came out swinging with both hands. However, three quick left jabs, a hefty left hook, a right to the side of the head and a right uppercut sent Torres to the canvas and it was obvious he wouldn't get up." -Long Beach Press-Telegram
