Bobby Dobbs fought this fight under the pseudonym of the Masked Marvel. The only information given to the public was that he was a veteran fighter who had been active in Europe. In the fight the Marvel showed great defensive ability and cleverness, but was weary by round 9 and gave up. The May 6 1916 issue of The Savannah Tribune revealed the fighter's true name as Bobby Dobbs.
