DAYTON, Ohio — Sugar Ray Leonard added his 8th straight professional victory here Wednesday night, scoring a technical knockout of Art McKnight of Mansfield, Ohio.

But the win was clouded by the first major controversy of the Palmer Park youngster's post-Olympic career.

Six thousand fans jeered referee Pete Rademacher's action in stopping the bout in the 7th round, claiming it was premature.
