Unbeaten heavyweight Mircea Simon recorded his ninth victory when he stopped Beau Williford in the second round of their scheduled 10-rounder. Simon, a silver medalist from Romania, completely dominated the fight against his outclassed foe, sending Williford to the canvas twice in the opening round. Scoring with combinations, Simon put Williford down again with 2:42 remaining in the second round and the referee stopped the bout.
