"New Orleans middleweight Tony Licata scored a unanimous decision here over the veteran Denny Moyer of Portland, Ore., extending his unbeaten string to 33 victories. Licata, who is ranked 3rd among the nation's middleweights, displayed flashing speed with strong left jabs and hooks, but Moyer hung inside counter-punching all the way. Apparently feeling the fight was close, Licata came out slugging in the 10th and final round to the enjoyment of the 3,434 paying fans.
