- Date: 1967-12-26
- Location: Stadthalle, Dueren, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany
German middleweight Willi Niederau made one last fight before retirement when he outpointed the Syrian Mohamed Sahib over 4 rounds. Niederau (80,5 kg record of 12-6-0) boxed competently and hit with ease Sahib (80 kg, record 5-30-3). Sahib lost/spat out his gumshield in the 1st and 2nd round. Referee Peter Mueller became visibly frustrated when the gumshield flew out again in the 3rd. Sahib was then taking punishment against the ropes. He protested at lenght to Mueller about unfair blows and was promptly given a reprimand for talking in the ring. In the 4th Sahib took more punishment to the degree that the ring doctor shouted to stop the fight. After a brief discussion with Mueller, the fight went on. The verdict went to Niederau.
