"Jerry Quarry disposed of Argentinean Alex Miteff in 2:18 of the 3rd round in their Olympic Auditorium bout Thursday night. Quarry caught Miteff midway through the 1st round with a right hand which spun the veteran halfway across the ring and to the deck. The Argentinean came back strongly in the remainder of the opening round, landing long lefts and rights, but Quarry had control of the situation. The big left did the job in the 3rd, felling his foe in lumberjack fashion in the Miteff corner. Alex took the eight count on his feet but was not ready for what was to come.
