"Suffering a bad cut on his forehead above the right eye from an accidental butt in the 7th round, Fond du Lac native Karl Zurheide had his light heavyweight fight against Andy Kendall of Portland, Ore., stopped early in the 8th round here Monday night. The ring physician stopped the fight at the Milwaukee Eagles Club 46 seconds into the 8th round, giving Kendall the TKO victory. In the 1st round, Kendall came out smoking as he knocked Zurheide down just 30 seconds into the fight with a right hand on the chin. Karl took the mandatory eight count and recovered nicely. It became a close fight, with Zurheide throwing left jabs and hooks effectively. Kendall concentrated his attack to the body." -Fond du Lac Reporter
