"Youthful welterweight Ernie (Indian Red) Lopez outboxed rugged Al Andrews Monday night to win a unanimous 10 round decision in their main event at the Hacienda Hotel. Lopez, displaying a sharp left jab and occasional solid rights to the head, gained the votes of all three officials. There were no knockdowns, although Andrews was in trouble several times in the late rounds and Lopez bled from a small cut over his right eye after the 3rd round." -United Press International
