Gil Turner 156 lbs beat Jackie LaBua 158 lbs by SD in round 10 of 10

"For the second time within a five-week span, Gil Turner won a split decision over Jackie LaBua before a small but enthusiastic crowd at the Onondaga County War Memorial Auditorium last night. Turner's margin was set up principally in the 4th when he broke open a cut over LaBua's right eye. This wound bled freely thereafter. It was another brawl, reminiscent of their previous battle, and for the second time LaBua finished stronger, but his rally came just too late to earn him the verdict. When LaBua suffered the 4th round cut, Turner seemed to gain confidence, and although LaBua came back to win the 6th and 10th, Gil seemed to have the rest of the route." -Syracuse Post-Standard
