"Gil Turner's rousing victory over Ray Drake last night has earned the Philadelphia fighter another bout at Brooklyn's Eastern Parkway Arena. Turner scored a 9th round TKO over Drake, of Far Rockaway, N.Y., when referee Ray Miller called a halt at 1:27 of the round. Drake seemed on the verge of going down in the 6th round, but rallied to win the 7th. He tired, however, in the 8th and 9th rounds. It was the first time he had attempted to go 10 rounds." -Associated Press
- The Turner-Drake bout was televised, as was the co-featured 10-rounder between Joey Lopes and Lulu Perez.
- Matchmaker Teddy Brenner promised Turner the main event on his December 20th card against either Ted Olla or Walter Cartier. However, neither fight came to pass. Instead, Brenner matched Olla with Paul Pender on that date.
