"Gil Turner's flailing fists brought the unbeaten Philadelphia welterweight sensation his 29th straight victory Monday night, a unanimous 10 round decision over fast-moving but hopelessly outgunned Del Flanagan of St. Paul. After an early flurry of tricky sneak punches that confused Turner, Flanagan was just another victim for the nation's 4th ranking welterweight. Turner tossed jabs, hooks, uppercuts and bolos as he relentlessly stalked the highly rated Flanagan about the ring. Flanagan wanted to set the pattern of fighting, but he never was able to get set for any kind of attack. Turner fought roughhouse style and it wasn't Flanagan's dish." -Associated Press
