Gil Turner 146 lbs beat Bernard Docusen 146 lbs by TKO at 3:00 in round 6 of 10
- Date: 1951-11-12
- Location: Arena, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA
- Referee: Charley Daggert
"Gil Turner won his 25th and most convincing triumph of an unbeaten career last night when he threw so many punches at Bernie (Big Duke) Docusen, the clever little Filipino decided discretion was the better part of valor and quit in his corner. Docusen told ringside physician Dr. W.G. Terry he had had enough. Docusen, who won the 2nd round, stood in the center of the ring and matched punch for punch with Turner for a while. So much leather was tossed that you couldn't keep track of the punches. But the Big Duke, bleeding from a closed left eye and a slashed right eye, soon tired of being hit and called it quits." -Associated Press
