"Frankie Warren of Corpus Christi, Texas, scored a unanimous 10 round decision over Gene Hatcher of Fort Worth, Texas, Sunday in a junior welterweight bout at Arco Arena. Warren remained undefeated in the 140 pound class at 23-0 with 15 KO's. Hatcher's record dropped to 27-4. Hatcher, a former WBA junior welterweight champion, suffered a cut on the side of his right eye in the 6th round and his ear began to bleed badly during the 7th. Warren, winning all three cards easily, did not emerge unscathed. He suffered a gash over the left eye in the 2nd round and bled throughout the fight." -United Press International
