Hines substituted for Jimmy Davenport. Hines was being outpointed, but giving a good account of himself, when he was knocked out a left to the jaw. Hines head crashed on the floor as he went down, he didn't regain consciousness, and was removed to the hospital. Hines died three days later due to injuries sustained in the fight.
