"Undefeated Chicago heavyweight James 'Quick' Tillis extended his unbeaten streak to 20 victories Thursday night by scoring a unanimous 10-round decision over Tom 'Roughhouse' Fischer of Tipp City, Ohio in the International Ballroom of the Conrad Hilton Hotel. Tillis, 205 1/4, came out in the first four rounds with crisp, left jabs and right hooks to the body. He hurt Fischer, 211, in the 6th round with a left hook to the jaw but Fischer would not go down. The pace slowed considerably the last three rounds, and Tillis was never in serious trouble. There were no knockdowns." -United Press International
