"Winning a unanimous 10-round decision Monday night, Willie 'The Worm' Monroe played the part of Muhammad Ali - fancy footwork, counter-punching and unabashed retreat. His opponent, Eugene 'Cyclone' Hart came on like Joe Frazier - full steam ahead, never in reverse, leading with his head. Although Hart chased Monroe all over the ring for the first three rounds, The Worm scored enough with jabs to win two of them. Thereafter, Cyclone became a gust, then a breeze. In the middle rounds, Hart got over-anxious and missed wildly with left hooks as Monroe took over the fight, popping left jabs almost at will. The fans booed Monroe's evasive tactics in the 6th round as he kept Hart off balance. But when he did stop to trade punches, he held his own with stiff jabs. Monroe landed the fight's two hardest punches - a pair of right uppercuts - in the 8th, and bloodied Hart's nose. Monroe took over complete control in the 9th, rocking Hart early in the round. There were no knockdowns." -Associated Press
