Bob Fitzsimmons 170 lbs beat Ed Dunkhorst 260 lbs by KO at 2:25 in round 2 of 25

  • Date: 1900-04-30
  • Location: Hercules A.C., Brooklyn, New York, USA
  • Referee: Charlie White

"Fitzsimmons showed that his wonderful hitting powers have not forsaken him, and was as lively on his feet as ever (...) in the first round Fitz landed on Dunkhorst's eye and several on the body, and received one on the face. Dunkhorst opened the second round with a left to the face and Bob hooked his left to the jaw and ducked Ed's return. Fitz took another jab on the mouth, but only smiled and ripped right and left to the stomach. Two more lefts to the stomach, followed by a right, made the giant wabble. Fitz measured him coolly and then hooked his left flush to the mark and Dunkhorst went to the floor with a crash and was counted out." (Newark Daily Advocate)
