"Andy Kendall of Portland, Ore., pounded away with a piston-like right hand to earn a majority decision over Roger Rouse in their 10 round light heavyweight fight Thursday night. Kendall gave away speed in order to land his effective right hands. Both fighters were fairly close until the 5th round when Kendall bounced five good right hands off Rouse's head. Rouse, from Anaconda, Mont., came back with several combinations and a solid left near the end of the round. Rouse had hurt Kendall early in the 7th round but one of Kendall's rights opened a cut around Rouse's left eye." -Associated Press
