"Light heavyweights Roger Rouse of Anaconda and Andy Kendall of Portland battled to a draw last night in the spacious Butte Civic Center. While the crowd was small in number, it was vocal and a chorus of boos greeted the announced verdict at the finish of the 10 round main event. The final round fulfilled a fight fan's dream. Both Rouse and Kendall sensed they would have to throw the leather when the bell rang, as there was little to choose in the first nine rounds. Throw it, they did, with Kendall stalking and Rouse counter-punching very well. There were some wicked exchanges and at the finish they went toe-to-toe. There were no knockdowns." -Kalispell Daily Inter Lake
