"Unbeaten Tyrone Everett of Philadelphia retained his NABF junior lightweight title Tuesday night by knocking out Jose Luis Madrid of Mexico at 2:14 of the 2nd round. Everett, who took the mandatory eight count after an apparent slip in the opening round, floored Madrid with an overhand right early in the 2nd round. Madrid got to his feet, but Everett came back with a right cross that knocked the Mexican unconcious. Madrid was carried to his corner and revived by Dr. Wilbur H. Strickland, physician for the Pennsylvania Athletic Commission." -United Press International
