"Former world light heavyweight champion Harold Johnson of Philadelphia won a unanimous 10 round decision over European champion Lothar Stengel Saturday night. Johnson knocked the German down in the 2nd round and had little trouble with Stengel, who suffered his first defeat after 13 victories. Stengel had a 13 year advantage over the 39 year old American ring veteran. Johnson showed no effect of age, however, as he constantly bore in, using a jab with great success. It was a right to the jaw that sent Stengel to the canvas. Stengel also took an eight-count in an upright position in the 5th round." -United Press International
