Dolan was knocked down twice in the 4th, and once in the 5th. Dolan was knocked down for a nine count in the 6th, and was then wrestled to the floor by Velez. Dolan was knocked down twice more in the 9th, and desperately pinned Velez against the ropes to avoid a knockout. Dolan was knocked down once more in the 10th, and tripped to the canvas, where he was when the bell rang to end the 10th. Described by the Spokesman-Review as one of the greatest fights ever seen in Spokane. Several fights broke out in the stands as both fighters left the ring.
