    Summary

Billy McColl had the thirteenth victory of his unbroken series at Newcastle on Monday, when he knocked out Dan Creedon in one round. There was a great house. McColl appeared in grand nick, and at the start of the fight the betting was 2 to 1 on him. For 30 seconds they sparred without a move. Dan was first to make play, and he tried with a light left which fell short. His next was better, as he got McColl lightly in the stomach. Then came another spell of careful work. This did not suit McColl, who wired in. Creedon tried to parry, but the onslaught was too terrific. He kept cool, but looked uncertain, as Billy backed him near the ropes, and then fought him into the centre. McColl sent a left into the stomach clean and hard. It was a fearful blow, and Creedon twisted with pain. McColl stabbed his right with terrible force on the left kidney as Dan gave him the chance. Creedon dropped on his knees, then tried to rise but it was to no avail, and he gradually rolled over, his hand gripping his stomach, whilst agony was lined all over his face. Seconds ticked by, but Dan could not respond, and after two minutes of fight Billy McColl was again champion.
