Joe Brown 134 lbs beat Johnny Busso 135 lbs by UD in round 15 of 15

"Last November, Johnny Busso outpointed lightweight champion Joe Brown in Miami Beach in a non-title. That unexpected triumph qualified Busso for a championship match with Old Bones, and the rivals were matched in the Sam Houston Coliseum. In turning back Busso's challenge, Brown gave an impressive exhibition of clever defensive boxing, sharp counter-punching and smart ring generalship. He needed them all, for Busso proved a stubborn opponent. With his awkwardly clever aggressiveness, Busso crowded Brown all the way. Brown's effective counter-punching, however, made a mess of Busso's features and the only knockdown of the fight was scored by Brown in the 9th. As Busso missed a right, Joe stepped in with a short, stunning right to the chin. Busso didn't appear to be seriously hurt, however, and succeeded in scrambling back by the time the count reached three. The decision in Brown's favor was unanimous." -Ring Magazine, April 1959 issue
