A crowd of 7,000 saw the Finn Pekka Kokkonen stay on his feet for 10 rounds against former World Light Heavyweight Champion Harold Johnson. Kokkonen was outboxed, had a nosebleed for most of the fight and ended up with a cut left eye. His showing drew applause though, and the fight was never dull. The 38-year-old Johnson danced like a young man and hit the 6-year-younger Kokkonen at will.
