"Beau Jack, 140 1/2, today, punched his way to a unanimous 10-round decision over welterweight Tony Janiro, 147, of Youngstown. The bout was fought in Washington's Griffith Stadium Monday night before a crowd who were soaked in a steady rain that fell throughout the entire contest. Jack was like a wildcat and kept driving at Janiro from the opening bell in an attempt to score a knockout. He hurt Tony several times, but was unable to put the young Ohioan away." -International News Service
