"California heavyweight champion Young Jack Johnson, 208, Los Angeles, last night scored a TKO in the 5th round over Zora Folley, 189, Chandler, Ariz., to retain his title after a doctor said Folley suffered possible broken ribs. The scheduled 12 rounder was stopped at the end of the 5th with Folley ahead on points. Folley won the first three rounds with sharp left jabs and occasional jolting rights to the head. But in the 4th, Johnson had Folley wobbly after throwing a right to the head and following with a severe body attack. However, in the 5th, Folley used jabs effectively to keep away from his harder-punching opponent." -United Press
