"Jimmy (The Cat) Dupree trapped 2nd ranked light heavyweight Eddie (Bossman) Jones on the ropes with a barrage of punches to stop him with just 44 seconds left in their 10 round bout Wednesday night. Dupree had dominated the fight and the pace took its toll on Jones. In the 10th round, Jones came out looking for a knockout but Dupree, 5th ranked, caught him with a hard right with two minutes gone. A hard left chopped open a cut by Jones on the right eye and he was battered when the referee stopped it." -United Press International
