"Frankie Crawford came up with an impressive victory on the latest Monarch Boxing Club show at the Valley Music Theatre. Crawford, 128, decked Tony Alvarado, 127, twice and went on to win a lopsided 10-round decision. It was the second straight loss for Alvarado at the hands of Crawford, who boxed to a draw with Jose Pimental in the Monarch Club's first show last month. Moving well and slipping most of Alvarado's punches, Crawford decked his opponent in the 2nd and 7th rounds but never sustained his attack, apparently content to go the distance." -Van Nuys Valley News

• Although the official cards on the California scoring system wasn't reported, the Valley News report did state that judges Lee Grossman and Dick Young only awarded one round to Alvarado and that referee George Latka awarded Crawford all 10.
