"Mexican lightweight champion Bernabe (Baby) Vasquez today pocketed a smashing victory over previously unbeaten Jimmy Soo of Philadelphia in their nationally televised fight. Soo's string of 34 wins ended last night under a flurry of lefts and rights. The tough Mexican TKO'd Soo at 1:32 of the 6th round. The Mexican lightweight who weighed in at 135, put Soo on the canvas with a fast flurry in the 6th. Soo, bleeding from the nose and mouth, got to his feet at the count of eight but referee Marty Gallagher ruled he was too woozy to continue and gave it to Vasquez on a TKO." -United Press
