"Adolph Pruitt of Los Angeles, unleashed a slashing attack in the 4th round Wednesday night that left Rugene Parker of San Jose, helpless, and the fight was halted by referee Nate Morgan at 2:50 of the round. Although Pruitt dropped Parker for a mandatory eight count in the first round, Parker rallied in the next two rounds and appeared to be making a battle of the Silver Slipper main event. But Pruitt then let loose with his heavy bombardment and had Parker helpless when the referee stopped the fight and awarded Pruitt a knockout win." -United Press International
