"Adolph Pruitt, 137, St. Louis, today nursed an injured shoulder suffered in the 7th round of a 10 round bout Friday night in which he won - outpointing Sergio Gomez, 138, Mexico City. Pruitt carried a harshly fought contest all the way with his aggressive attacks. Some of the steam demonstrated in the earlier rounds was lacking after the 7th round when Pruitt hurt his shoulder. however, Pruitt managed to hold off his opponent." -United Press International
