"Former world featherweight champion Ultiminio (Sugar) Ramos defeated Antonio Rosales by a split decision in a 10 round lightweight bout Saturday night. Ramos, the favorite, carried the fight consistently to Rosales. He had only one really bad round, the 6th, when a strong right cross split his lip which kept bleeding the rest of the fight. The bout took place in the Caletilla Bull Ring, which was filled to its 9,000 seat capacity. There were no knockdowns." -United Press International
