"Randy Neumann stepped one rung higher in his climb toward a shot at the heavyweight title when he scored a unanimous decision over Boone Kirkman in Friday night's 10-round main event at the Dunes Hotel. Neither boxer exhibited any particular style although Neumann concentrated on short rights to Kirkman's head, while the slower Kirkman concentrated on body punches in an effort to slow down the more agile Neumann. In the 3rd round Kirkman sustained a small cut over his right eye, but Neumann failed to deliver any damaging blows during the remainder of the match. Neumann survived unmarked." -Las Vegas SUN
