"Light heavyweight contender Johnny Persol of New York and Henry Hank of Detroit fought to a 10 round draw Friday night in the last of the weekly television fights from MSG. There were no knockdowns but the two light heavies drew applause from the crowd of about 3,000 with their savage toe-to-toe slugging duels. Persol put on the pressure all the way in the final round to gain the nod from all three officials. That enabled him to gain the draw. Hank was cut on the right cheek in the 4th round. Persol was gashed over the left eye in the 9th." -Associated Press
