"Mauro Mina of Peru may have clinched a shot at the world title last night in his U.S. debut by winning a split 10 round decision over Henry Hank of Detroit at MSG. The crowd of 5,300 was partial to Mina and booed loudly the announcement that judge Artie Aidala had voted for Hank, 6-4, on a rounds basis. Mina was the aggressor after the 3rd round and made the 9th and 10th sessions develop almost into a pursuit race as he chased Hank around the ring." -United Press International
