"Second-ranked light heavyweight Eddie Jones gained an unpopular split decision over Frank (Snake bite) Niblett last night at the Silver Slipper Ballroom. Jones had a difficult time fighting against Niblett's clowning and unorthodox style which found Niblett walking around the ring acting groggy and almost daring Jones to come in. Niblett's favorite punch was a roundhouse left which unfortunately missed Jones and landed Niblett on his seat. 'Snake bite' sttempted this punch three times in the early rounds before he gave up on it. On the other side, Jones was all business as he was most effective to get Niblett to stand and fight. But Niblett smartly kept away and danced most of the night - backing up." -Las Vegas Sun
