Boxing commissioner Cliff McDonald warned Fox after the 5th round, that he would fine him $50 for every round he loafed in. Fox had Rowsey nearly stopped in the 1st and 4th, when he started clowning and let Rowsey survive. These two were to have faced each other on the July 12th Spokane show, however Rowsey began to show signs that he had contracted chicken pox. He was quarantined for several days. Even though the virus never actually broke out, he was unable to train for several days.
