"Middleweight contender Joey Giardello used countering left hooks and straight rights to outpoint Ralph (Tiger) Jones again Friday night and stretch his unbeaten run to 14 straight bouts. Fighting before a sell-out crowd of 3,551 at the Miami Beach Auditorium, Giardello of Brooklyn beat Jones of St. Albans, N.Y., more impressively than in their first fight in 1954. Giardello, the 4-1 favorite, scored the only knockdown of the bout when he dropped Jones to one knee with a left-right combination to the jaw in the 3rd round.
