Right hand smashes floored Carter, 198, twice in the 2nd round. A barrage of blows that had Harold ready to fall again brought referee Teddy Martin to the rescue. • St. Nick's matchmaker Teddy Brenner stated he would be attempting to match Miteff and England's Henry Cooper for Madison Square Garden for late May or early June of '59. However, the match failed to materialize and Miteff and Cooper would not meet until December 6th of 1960 in London. And even then, Miteff came in as a substitute for Joe Erskine.
