"Marcel Thil of France retained his claim to the world middleweight championship last night by turning back the 3rd challenge of Lou Brouillard of Worcester, Mass., in a bout that almost duplicated their second meeting a year ago. Thil was awarded the verdict on a foul in the 6th round while a crowd of close to 12,000 howled and roared its disapproval. The blow which sent Thil down in the 6th, a smashing right, appeared to ringsiders to land flush on his jaw. The Frenchman, however, clutched at his middle as he dropped on one knee and a puzzled referee first counted him out, then went into a consulatation with the judges before arriving at the decision that Thil had been fouled." -Associated Press
