"Randy Turpin, British and European middleweight champion, knocked out Billy Brown of Hartford, Conn., in the 2nd round of a scheduled 10 round bout. The bout was one-sided from the start. Turpin attacked relentlessly with his left and an occasional stinging right. Brown had no answer to these tactics and was made to miss badly. Brown was repeatedly warned for holding in the 2nd round and then Turpin pounded the American with both fists. Brown went down under a barrage of blows and tried to pull himself up by the ropes, almost beating the count. The end came at 2:25 of the 2nd round." -United Press
