"The seconds of the British heavyweight champion, Jack Petersen, threw in the towel in the 11th round of his scheduled 15 round fight with the German, Walter Neusel, at Wembley tonight. The opening rounds were fought at a terrific pace. Both men fought like furies, taking punishment in an endeavor to score a decisive blow. Neusel, however, was by far the most effective. He attacked relentlessly, and Petersen, despite his gallant efforts, failed to keep the German at long range. In the 8th Petersen weakened. In the 10th, Neusel made a furious effort to obtain a knockout, and opened a cut an inch long above Petersen's left eyebrow, on which he continually hammered. The Welshman struggled pluckily, but the German, with punch after punch, rocked him until he was on the verge of falling when the towel was thrown in." -Grafton Daily Examiner
