"The most remarkable prize fight ever held in NY came off at the Broadway AC tonight. Joe Walcott smashed, jabbed and floored Joe Choynski so often that referee Johnny White stopped the bout in the 7th round. It was an act of mercy and the crowd applauded it. Walcott was an aerial steam pump from the tap of the gong. He simply worked his hands and feet and landed everywhere. He landed a terrific right hand swing on the jaw and Choynski went sprawling. The latter was dazed and stayed down nine seconds. Again Walcott floored him with a right for a second lie down, and a 3rd knockdown was scored as the gong sounded. The 2nd round was fast but the recuperated Choynski was more careful and stayed away from Walcott and was hammering Walcott when the round ended. Walcott was the aggressor in the 4th and 5th and almost closed Choynski's right eye. Choynski was almost gone at the end of the 5th. The 7th round was one-sided from the start. Walcott pounded Choynski into a corner and floored him with a right hand. Choynski got up and tried to bluff his way through the round, but Walcott pounded him and referee Johnny White stopped the bout and declared Walcott the winner." -The Boston Globe
