"It was indicated today that former middleweight champion Teddy Yarosz and his defeated opponent, Lloyd Marshall, may be up for suspension due to the manner in which they fought here last night. Although Yarosz won the 10 round fight on a decision, at times the crowd became so disgruntled at the wrestling tactics employed that both fighters were nearly howled out of the ring. Each of the pugilists lost rounds on fouls. Referee Red Robinson said after the bout that he repeatedly warned both fighters about foul tactics, but apparently to no avail." -International News Service
- Marshall lost two rounds due to low blows and Yarosz lost one round while trying to trip Marshall.
- The AP reported that Marshall was floored in the 5th for a one-count.
- On October 23rd both fighters were suspended by the boxing commission for an indefinite period.
Post fight comment
- "Yarosz wrestled his man heavily on the ropes, butted him, heeled him with the glove, tried to punch his opponent while holding from the back and on two or three occasions did his best to push Marshall through the ropes." -Harvey Boyle, Sports editor and member of the Boxing Commission.
