The first three rounds were tame, with Kahut trying to work his way inside Zander's guard; while Zander entertained the crowd with wild swings and grunts. In the 4th round Kahut began to land left hands to Zander's body, followed up by rights to the head, while Zander responded with headshots of his own, while doubling up Kahut with a blow to the mid-section. Thirty seconds into the fifth round, a left hook to the jaw from Kahut floored Zander for the ten-count.
