"Blending his boxing with enough slugging to keep Kingfish Levinsky's mighty right from doing too much damage, Tuffy Griffiths, the young Sioux City, Ia., heavyweight, last night pounded out a 10-round decision over Levinsky in the Chicago Stadium. Levinsky, as usual was dangerous from one end of the fight to the other, but Griffiths margin was pronounced enough to make the decision of the judges and referee popular. The Sioux City heavyweight was credited with six rounds, to one for Levinsky, with three even." -Associated Press

    • The financial arrangements on this bout was written where Levinsky would receive 60% of the net receipts, out of which he was to pay Griffiths $25,000. Unfortunately, the net gate came to only $46,000. And after Griffiths was paid his fee, Levinsky earned merely $2,600 (app.) for his troubles.
