"Ken Buchanan, British lightweight champion, made it 26 straight when he outpointed Ivan Whiter in a fast eight-rounder. Whiter, former Southern Area welterweight champion, 141 1/2, held a weight advantage of 7 1/2 pounds and put up stout resistance for the first half of the bout, but when Buchanan began to put on the pressure, the verdict was never in doubt.
